Longleat ‘Once Upon An Easter’ Trail - The Wind In The Willows Scene
“Believe me, my young friend, there is nothing —absolutely nothing— half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats”
When it comes to our creations, so much thought, time, imagination and hard work goes into everything we produce... And this installation was no different.
Forming a part of the Longleat ‘Once Upon An Easter’ literary trail, we designed and built a life-sized version of the famous The Wind In The Willows scene with Ratty and Mole sat on the boat, with the quote:
“Believe me, my young friend, there is nothing—absolutely nothing—half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats”.
We absolutely love how this turned out, we battled through some epic winds, rain and even hail, so it wasn’t easy, but the finished results were totally worth it.
Here’s some behind the scenes footage of the team hard at work pulling it all together.
We reused and upcycled as many materials as possible for this project, repurposing old garden benches and even a 16ft rowing boat from Chichester Harbour!
The signwritten book was painted by the incredibly talented Knowles Signs who we’ve been loving working alongside on various projects recently.
The trail runs from 28th March until 19th April 2026.
